Dashwire makes using your mobile phone easier - from your computer

Free service wirelessly mirrors your mobile phone to the web to achieve easier access to its wide range of powerful features and capabilities.

SAN FRANCISCO, California — Matching PC functionality with wireless connectivity, Dashwire, Inc. today unveiled its innovative solution for mobile phone users that automatically mirrors the content on a phone to the web, making it significantly easier to manage, enhance, and share mobile experiences - no cables required.

“The potential around web-connected phones and services is the biggest opportunity in the wireless industry,” said Ford Davidson, CEO and founder of Dashwire. “Mobile phone buyers are excited by the possibilities of their phones only to find that they can’t easily gain access to the rich features beyond making phone calls. And the instruction manual isn’t cutting it - even for simple tasks. With Dashwire, we took a different approach by automatically mirroring your phone to your computer screen to deliver an amazing end-to-end solution that enhances the experience of owning a phone.”

The Dashwire Experience

As people live their lives, the mobile phone is something that goes with them everywhere. It’s constantly recording daily life and the memories that are important through text messages, contacts, calls, photos, and videos. Unfortunately, much of this footage is lost forever because it’s entirely too difficult for users to figure out how to access and share it with others.

Dashwire changes this by taking the world captured on a mobile phone and making it available in an easy-to-use interface when a user gets back to the computer. All phone content — contacts, text messages, calls, photos, videos, and phone settings — seamlessly uploads and is safely stored in a web-based Dashwire account. From there, users have access to a number of cool features that help simplify and enhance their mobile phone experiences.

Contact Management

When it comes to a mobile phone, it all starts with a user’s contacts. That’s why Dashwire automatically backs-up phone contacts to the web, where users can add, edit, or delete them, and have all changes instantly updated on their phones. Add a picture to one contact and change a phone number on another - both changes will be updated on the web and reflected on the phone in just a few seconds.

Fast and Easy Text Messaging

With Dashwire, users can also send and receive text messages from their computers using the text messaging plan they already have in place with their carrier, without even picking up their phones. Literally. “It’s incredible to think that 620 billion text messages were sent around the world in the first quarter of 2007. Imagine how many more will be sent when users can easily search their messages and respond from the comfort of a computer keyboard! We’re bringing an instant messaging-like experience to SMS via Dashwire,” said Davidson.

Automatic Media Upload and Sharing

“Believe it or not, your phone actually takes great photos. The trouble is that most users have never known what to do with them before,” said Davidson. Dashwire changes this by instantly uploading the photos and videos you capture on your phone to the web where users can edit, organize into albums, and share with the people that matter most to them - wherever they are.

Single-Click Phone Configuration

Who wants to read the owner’s manual? With Dashwire, your ringtones, wallpapers, speed dials, and Internet favorites can be easily set from your web-based account and instantly updated on your phone - all with just a few mouse clicks.

With Dashwire’s free service, the data on your mobile phone is securely backed-up and easy to search, interact with, and share using the power and familiarity of your computer. Dashwire is simple to use, and within minutes of signing up, users will be able to experience their mobile world in an amazing new way.
