Every holiday season, publications review what wireless devices and phones you should buy for gifts for Christmas, Hanuka and Kwanzaa. As part of our Review of Reviews service, we are summarizing the gift guides here:

Kent German at CNET recommends that you find out the carrier of the gift recipient first. For people with T-Mobile or AT&T the Nokia N95 is suggested because of its 3G support. The LG VX 8350 is suggested for Verizon and the Sony Ericcson W580i Walkman phone with speakers or iPhone for At&T customers.  For the ultimate luxury category the Prada Phone at $849 is the epitome of elegance.

Mark Spoonauer at Laptop Magazine wrote a gift ideas guide by carrier. For music phones, he likes the AT&T Motorola MOTORAZR2, Sony Ericsson W580i Walkman phone and Samsung Juke. For music and multimedia the HTC Touch (Sprint.) For messaging the LG Rumor (Sprint), LG Voyager (Verizon), Helio Ocean and T-Mobile Shadow are suggested. For smart phones, the iPhone, Moto Q Global, BlackBerry Curve (T-Mobile), Nokia N95 (unlocked)and Palm Centro.

PC World's Holiday Cell Phone Buying Guide's top rated holiday phones are the BlackBerry Pearl, Motorola Rizr Z3, Samsung SCH u-740, W300i, and LG enV. The top ranked smart phones are BlackBerry Curve 8300,T-Mobile Wing, T-Mobile Dash, Nokia E62, and the Apple(AT&T) iPhone.

The Holiday Gadget Guide Blog suggests the T-Mobile Shadow , Nokia N95 8GB and T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve.

Fox News in their "Tech the Halls" feature listed under cell phones the iPhone and T-Mobile Shadow .

Peter Svensson AP Technology Writer's Guide to Spiffy Phones selected the iPhone, Palm Centro, Moto Q Music, Nokia N95, HTC Touch, T-Mobile Shadow, LG Voyager, and BlackBerry Pearl.

In Ringing in the Holidays, by Kara Rowland at the Washington Times, the major touchscreen phones are suggested; the iPhone, HTC Touch, and LG Voyager.

Engadget holiday guides which in include all kinds of gadgets suggest the Palm Centro for her, the BlackJack II for him, and the SideKick LX for a daughter, while no phones are mentioned for son.

David Cokler in his Gizmo Guide in The Los Angeles Times recommends the Palm Centro for students, the Sidekick ID for slackers, LG KE850 Prada for fashionistas and the iPhone or Motorazr2 V9 for digital natives, while parents with a mortgage are limited to the whatever free phone they can muscle with their plan (with or without a sub prime mortgage.
