The service may come in handy over the holidays when you are trying to arrange last minute get togethers with friends and family.

Evite (http://www.evite.com), the leading social event planning service on the Web, announced today the launch of QuickVite, a free, cross-platform mobile/Web application that enables users to plan casual, last minute get-togethers with ease. Whether picking a place to watch the game tonight or arranging girls’ night out next week, QuickVite is the new way to quickly coordinate informal outings.

QuickVite is the first application of its kind because it allows users to reach out to a group of friends from either their computer or mobile phone and send out a plan simultaneously via both email and text message. With QuickVite, it becomes easier to connect with friends wherever they are from, wherever you are, without having to send multiple messages. With its revolutionary group messaging capability, QuickVite recipients can then respond via email, text message or at Evite.com, and everyone can view the group’s responses in one location. QuickVite represents the second phase of a suite of unique mobile products Evite began offering in September.

“At Evite, we continuously look for new ways to make it easier for our users to plan and organize their social lives,” said Jessica Landy Raymond, VP of Product Development at Evite. “QuickVite extends Evite’s social planning expertise into the mobile arena with an innovative new product that facilitates coordinating get-togethers on-the-go.”

Evite’s mobile initiative kicked off in September with the successful launch of its “Send-to-Phone” feature, which enables users to send event updates and location details to their mobile phone for easy access and recall. Since its launch, the Send-to-Phone offering has been met with extensive demand and adoption. With more than 450,000 Send-to-Phone users, Evite is quickly closing in on 1 million Send-to-Phone alerts sent. Now in phase two of its mobile roll-out, along with QuickVite, Evite has also launched its mobile- friendly WAP site (http://m.evite.com), where users can view their upcoming Evite events and event details, as well as create, view and respond to QuickVite invitations.

Evite’s QuickVite and WAP applications are supported by Air2Web, a leading mobile marketing service provider for enterprises, brands, agencies and network operators. Air2Web specializes in creating products and services that enable companies to better promote, service and transact with their customers via mobile devices. The QuickVite application represents a new achievement in customized mobile messaging and cross-platform connectivity.

In the upcoming weeks, Evite will launch its QuickVite application on Facebook, offering yet another point of entry and convenience for organizing casual get-togethers. The QuickVite Facebook application will allow Facebook users to send QuickVite invitations to friends outside of Facebook without having to leave the Facebook environment.
