Verizon Wireless’ CFO Doreen Toben at the Bear Stearns 21st Annual Media Conference said that the Verizon $99 flat rate plans were selling well and that it revenues are expected to grow over the next
few years.
Verizon received a “great early response” to the plan with
many customers on cheaper plans upgrading to the unlimited
offer along with customers who spend more than $100 a month on
calls. Toben says the plan should should boost results.
“It doesn’t take that many more of the $79.99 folks to go
up to $99.99 to offset it,” said Toben, who doesn’t think that the plan will ignite a price war.
