Myxer today announced they’ve surpassed 10 million users, 20 million downloads per month, and almost 150 million mobile downloads in total since launch, making them the largest free, ad-supported mobile community on the Internet today and one of the top 400 websites in the U.S. (Alexa). The company previously announced reaching the 1 million user mark in April 2007, and is now growing virally at an average rate of over 40,000 new users per day.
Myxer, which is both an online and mobile community as well as a mobile content delivery platform, also announced that McDonald’s, the U.S. Army, NBC, Friendly’s, ABC Family, and other major brands are now using their mobile platform to deliver branded mobile content and integrated digital ad campaigns to targeted audiences, spanning the web to mobile environments.
Myxer’s 10 millions users, made up primarily of teenagers and college students, are actively downloading millions of pieces of mobile content each month, at a rate of roughly 7 downloads per second. There are currently over 400,000 ringtones, wallpapers, games and videos available on the ad-supported Myxer website, from over 17,000 partners and content providers. Many of these content partners also leverage Myxer’s open APIs, widgets and other services to offer mobile content directly from their own websites, blogs and MySpace pages.
