Following News Corporation's new ownership of Jamba
with its purchase of the 49 percent stake previously held by VeriSign,
Jamba has announced a reorganization of its business. The business name has been changed to Fox Mobile Group, while the Jamba and Jamster names will remain mobile content online and on mobile phones.
A new organization, Fox Mobile Group,
will now manage three distinct operating business units focused on
mobile content distribution, content licensing and mobile content
production.
-- The new Fox Mobile Distribution unit will assume
responsibility for global distribution of mobile content through
various consumer brands.
-- Fox Mobile Entertainment will continue
to focus on licensing content on behalf of Fox Entertainment Group to
third parties for mobile delivery and usage.
-- The new Fox Mobile
Studios unit will house the creative and technology talents and assets
that develop original mobile content.
Jamba, Fox Mobile Group's
(FMG) consumer mobile content distribution brand in markets throughout
Europe, and Jamster, FMG's consumer mobile content distribution brand
in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Russia and the Asia-Pacific region, will be
part of the new Fox Mobile Distribution unit.
Fox Mobile Group will be led
by Mauro Montan
aro, who was named chief executive officer of Jamba
earlier this year. Over the past few months, Montanaro has installed a
number of new executives who will help run FMG and its
newly-established units, including Kaj Hagros, who joined the company
as chief operating officer in July 2008. Hagros, based in Berlin, is
responsible for developing and executing product, technology and
content strategies for Fox Mobile Distribution's consumer brands.
Other
recently-appointed executives include Giovanni Montesanti, who will
join the company as chief marketing officer in November; Dana Harris,
vice president, global communications and John Ma, vice president,
human resources. Mark Anderson and Jamie Samson will continue serving
as chief financial officer and executive vice president of business
& legal affairs and general counsel, respectively.
"The combined
strength of our existing regional and operations teams and our new
executive team will set the stage for further growth," said Montanaro.
"Our company is rife with talented and experienced people, which will
prove extremely beneficial as we broaden our portfolio and expand into
new regions."
