Music Studio In Your Mobile Phone - From IndabaVox

sessioninabox.jpgIndaba Music, the leading online music collaboration web application, launched IndabaVox, revolutionary online music collaboration functionality to allow musicians worldwide to record to sessions and conference together directly from their mobile devices.

The IndabaVox features will act as a supplement to Indaba Music's online tool, which is centered around 'sessions,' where members can record and mix online to create music together. IndabaVox uses advanced VoIP technology, allowing members to record to a session they are involved with and conference directly with others in a session - all through the use of a standard or mobile telephone.

The mobile recording functionality allows on-the-go musicians to record notes and comments when and wherever inspiration may strike them. These recordings show up quickly within the corresponding session online, where any member of the session can access them. The conferencing feature gives Indaba users the unique ability to discuss their projects directly with session members from across the world - while keeping each user's personal information discrete.

"As a musician myself, it happens to me all the time that I wake up in the middle of the night with a great idea for a melody or lyric, only to forget it the next morning," said Indaba Music co-founder Daniel Zaccagnino. "With the ability to directly call into sessions all Indaba Music artists will be able to record from wherever they are and find their music in their mixing console when they next log-in. We're excited for the new creativity this will allow for."

Each member of an online session at Indaba Music is assigned a unique pin for that session, which can be accessed when the member calls the IndabaVox phone number. Once in the system, a voice-prompt menu allows the user to record directly to a session, as well as set up a conference with other session members. For further ease of use, Indaba Music members will have the ability to set a default session to which they can record to immediately when they dial the IndabaVox number.

In addition to the new VoIP features, Indaba Music is also launching iPhone functionality. Users of the iPhone will see a customized site when they visit IndabaMusic.com, which will allow them to easily keep track of their sessions, messages, and contest involvements. The option to view the full site on the iPhone will still be available.
