The reviews of the HTC Touch Pro are gaining momentum with some reviewers absolutely loving it. The HTC Touch Pro has been called the "most advanced Windows Mobile phone" by one reviewer. It's similar to the HTC Touch Diamond except it has a QWERTY keyboard with a dedicated number row which reviewers called excellent. It does have the TouchFlo 3D interface which gives appealing access to multimedia that has been well-liked in the the HTC Touch Diamond. Syncing with Microsoft applications is where it has its most appeal.
The HTC Touch Pro has the kinds of features power users like, including, accelerometer to change from portrait to landscape, 2.8 inch display, 3.2 megapixel camera, and fast 3G access via Sprint's EVDO Rev. A network. The touchscreen uses a stylus or stylus and works well. Video capture also works well even though there isn't a dedicated video capture key. Data can be stored on a microSD card which requires the case to removed to change.
Brandon Miniman at Pocket Now is a review of an unlocked no-carrier supported version of the HTC Touch Pro notes that it comes with a leather case and extra stylus, the keyboard is easy to use and has a dedicated number row. The home screen is gorgeous. It does sync well with Outlook. System performance was good. The Opera Browser is not ready for prime time. The YouTube app was great. He also thought that it too thick, but still called it "The ultimate mobile companion" and is elegant and powerful.
The editor at MobileTechReview called the HTC Touch Pro called the 5 row keyboard excellent with back-lighting for easy viewing, the accelerometer changes from landscape/portrait automatically and the microSD slot is in the back. The call quality was clear and the speaker phone was loud and clear. GPS worked on a sunny day by a window.
Shawn Davies at SlashGear write that they are "absolutely loving it". The keyboard is laid out perfectly and is not crowded. Video captures good quality, but here is not dedicated key, it has to be operated from ToucFlo UI. The processor slows down for animation and GPS. Ti can be tethered as a modem with fast speeds. Video output is very good. Input can be done with fingers, stylus or onscreen keyboard. He finally states, "We recommend this phone to anyone who is looking for a device that is
capable of doing a lot of useful tasks such as editing Word documents
