With over 10% growth in attendance and a 15% increase in the number of sponsors and exhibitors over last year, WiMAX World 2008 Conference & Expo - wimaxworld.com - was the largest event ever held in the WiMAX market.
This week more than 9,000 professionals converged at McCormick Place in Chicago to hear from the world's leading WiMAX ecosystem companies, including Clearwire, Motorola, Huawei, INTEL, Nokia Siemens Networks, Samsung and XOHM.
"WiMAX World has once again proven that an in-depth and enlightening
content driven program combined with active vendor participation are
just some of the critical elements required to drive success for an
event in today's uncertain economy," said Eliot Weinman, conference
founder and co-chair, and president of Trendsmedia. "Feedback from the
event has been extremely positive and we are proud that our WiMAX World
global series continues to be one of the fastest growing technology
tradeshows in the world."
This year WiMAX World 2008 featured 350+ exhibitors and sponsors. It
also hosted presentations by more than 175 speakers. Summits and
workshops covered a wide range of topics all focusing on 3 key themes:
WiMAX deployment; enabling technologies and demand generation for
mobile broadband.
Weinman continued, "Last year we predicted that 2008 would be the
breakout year for WiMAX technology and if the results of this year's
show are anything to go by, it most certainly is." The WiMAX World
event series has grown more than tenfold since our inaugural event in
2004.
WiMAX World conferences are independently managed, non-biased events
that attract operators, industry thought leaders, leading vendors,
business and trade media as well as a large spectrum of WiMAX ecosystem
participants. Billed as a 'must attend' event on two continents, the
WiMAX World series has grown consistently year over year, garnering the
respect of the WiMAX industry; and is known for providing high caliber
conference sessions, with speakers and content selected by industry
advisors.
The 6th annual WIMAX World 2009 event will be held again at McCormick
Place in Chicago from September 15 -17, 2009. To date, 70% of sponsors
and exhibitors at this year's event have already re-signed contracts to
participate again in the 2009 event.
