Gregory A Quirk at EE Times tested the data loading speed of the top 5 smartphones and the BlackBerry Bold was the fastest followed by T-Mobile HTC G1, Android, Apple iPhone 3G, LG Dare, and the Samsung Instinct.
They contend that the BlackBerry Bold won because it uses the Cypress Semiconductor
CYWB0124AB West Bridge peripheral controller. The controller provides a direct connection of peripherals and creates fast
direct transfer tunnels without loading the main processor.
He also found out that you can still
watch video and listen to music on the BlackBerry's internal memory
while downloading content to the MicroSD card. The speeds for the BlackBerry were a lot faster than its competitors.
We are not sure how the BlackBerry Storm would do, but it probably has similar technology and would beat out its competitors in speed tests.
