Mobile sync company, CompanionLink Software, will offer two-way sync between contact management and CRM software and the new Palm Pre smartphone.
CompanionLink's solutions will sync data with all phones based on Palm's new operating system, Palm webOS, which natively runs on the Palm Pre. The software will also work with other webOS smartphones.
CompanionLink users will be able to sync contacts, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, calendar events, tasks, notes, and alarms and reminders between the Palm Pre and popular contact management solutions like ACT! by Sage, Google, Palm Desktop, Lotus Notes, GoldMine, and Microsoft Outlook.
Complete two-way synchronization ensures that any change to data on the Palm Pre
will synchronize back with the contact management database.
CompanionLink lets users choose between wired (USB) sync and wireless
(over-the-air) sync with their phone.
This service may be helpful to future Palm Pre users because the Palm Pre software is reportedly not compatible with previous Palm operating system software or all data types
"CompanionLink will become the missing sync software between the Palm Pre and CRM solutions like ACT! by Sage," says Rushang Shah, Director of Marketing at CompanionLink Software. "Our software will automate that entire sync process for people who need the data on their Palm Pre."
CompanionLink sells a complete line of mobile synchronization solutions for contact management and CRM software. Their flagship products -- CompanionLink Express and CompanionLink Professional -- are available from the company's website starting at $49.95. Technical support is included for free with the purchase. A 14-day evaluation version of their software is available at www.companionlink.com.
