At Mobile World Congress, Acer revealed an entire line of smartphones. They plan to be one of the top five smartphone makers in the United States.
All of the phones will have a new widget-based user interface, on top of Windows Mobile 6.1, for the first half of 2009. Smartphones shipping in the second half will have Windows Mobile 6.5.
The models announced are:
- ACER M900 - for communications on the go with slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
- ACER F900 - to get the skinny on slim and smart internet.
- ACER X960 - with versatile and functional navigation.
- ACER DX900 - dual SIM smartphone for connectivity and convenience.
They are calling the phones the Tempo series. Acer acquired smartphone maker E-Ten in March of last year.
