Google Voice Search Now Supported in T-Mobile G1 Update 1.1

Tmarkasspamg1.png-Mobile began issuing an update to G1
users of the Android operating system.  The update, Firmware version 1.1 / RC33, was released to a small
number of users yesterday.

T-Mobile send updates to all G1 users over the next
two weeks. The update includes several bug fixes and feature
enhancements, but it is not the update known as 'Cupcake'.

Users don't have to do anything the update is issued at random and will reach everyone in due time.

The upgrade fixes the "Messages" Stability Issue, problems with WiFi forcing a logout of IM, glitches with no reminders for calendar items and for some G1 smartphones the occasional G1 hanging-up at the G1 Screen.

New Features 
of Firmware version 1.1 / RC33,

  • Support "Check For Upgrades" (New feature to check for system upgrades.)
  • Voice Search (New Google feature for searching.)
  • Ability to save pictures received as MMS.
  • Ability to report offensive comments in the Market as SPAM as well as the notification in Market when an update is available.
