Huawei and LG to Offer Google Android Smartphones this Year

Huwaielogo.gifHuawei is showing the second Google Android smartphone. The smartphone will be commercially available in the third quarter of this year.

 Huwaei will develop two-three Google-Android models in the coming year.

While the rest of the cell phone appears to be in decline due to the global recession, Huawei told Reuters they expect sales to grow. Chen told reporters that he believes the company will sell between 40 million and 45 million phones in 2009, compared with 33 million in 2008.

Huawei partnered with an established design consultancy to develop a user-friendly interface, creating a powerful customer experience that is able to evolve with operators' differentiation requirements.

LG also announced that it will be release and number of Google Android mobile phones and said it would launch its own application store in the second quarter.
