According to the publication the Business Mirror, Acer will offer an Android phone in September of this year according to source who did not want to be identified. Previously, it was rumored that Acer was workign on two Android smartphones.
The Google Android-based smartphone is called the A1 and has a touchscreen. It will be part of four handset models that Acer plans to debut
that month.
Acer wll join HTC Corp., Samsung Electronics Co., LG Electronics Inc. and
Motorola Inc. in the Android handset space.
Acer announced four new Windows Mobile smartphones at Mobile World Congress:
- ACER M900 - for communications on the go with slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
- ACER F900 - to get the skinny on slim and smart internet.
- ACER X960 - with versatile and functional navigation.
- ACER DX900 - dual SIM smartphone for connectivity and convenience.
Their company president wants to work deasl with carriers to offer the smartphones for free with a contract.
