President Obama should be getting his super secure BlackBerry soon, reports the Washington Times according to presidential officials.
Obama's super secured BlackBerrry 8830 is being supervised by the National Security Agency, that will make
sure its encryption software meets federal standards. Obama's new BlackBerry should be ready in the next few months.
Once, he gets the BlackBerry, Obama will be able to send text and
e-mail and make phone calls to others with the smae secure software on their smartphone Top
aides as well as first lady Michelle Obama are expected to get secure devices to communicate with the president.
Genesis Key Inc. of Washington developed SecurVoice, the security software which should defend the BlackBerry 8830 from hackers, eavesdroppers
and spies. It is a software encryption solution across networks and devices.
"We're going to put his BlackBerry back in his hand," said Steven Garrett, Genesis Key chairman.
The Genesis Key website states, "The benefits of SecurVoice are numerous,
ranging from making any mobile phone secure, to disabling a lost phone
and replacing it's key, to secure conference calling to inter-agency
secure communications."
The president had to give up his unsecured BlackBerry
after Inauguration Day.
Currently Obama has been using a combo of a BlackBerry which has to be tethered to a Scetera Edge from General Dynamics.
Once source suggests that it isa BlackBerry 8830 World Edition with GSM an CDMA access. It is available from Verizon, Sprint and Alltel. Some have dubbed it the BarackBerry. There has been no word yet if the presidential dog will have hisown BoBerry with GPS tracking to find out where he hides the presidential shoes in the White House.
