Samsung showed off the Samsung Mondi at CTIA. It's a WiMAX Mobile Internet Device for the Clear mobile WiMAX
service from Clearwire.
Where in the world did they get the name Mondi? It comes from Latin for "world." Maybe it has to do with the World Wide Web?
The handy Mondi is kind of like a netbook but fits in a pocket. It has GPS Navigation, touchscreen, horizontal slider QWERTY keyboard and optical
mouse. The Mondi also has multimedia features that offer instant
access to email, Internet, video content and business applications. It has a 3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, HDMI TV Out and 4 gigabytes of internal storage.
The full -featured web browser is powered by Opera 9.5,
which takes full advantage of the device's 4.3-inch touch screen. Mondi offers s location
based services and instant access to social networking websites. It
also supports various services including Fring, Gypsi, and MS Live
Messenger.
The Mondi is completely customizable with widgets
that can be dragged and dropped anywhere on the display screen for easy
viewing and use.
Wi-Fi connectivity offers the business user fast and simple
connections to Outlook Email / Calendars, Microsoft Office and many
other vertical business applications outside the Clear service area.
For the multimedia user, this device offers the ability to download and
watch movies, listen to music or play games.
