Engadget has leaked an AT&T document for the HTC Lancaster, a QWERTY slider smartphone running Android. It appears to a touchscreen like the HTC Touch Pro which they call "The Consumer Social Messaging Device"
Th HTC Lancaster offers EDGE and 850 / 1900MHz HSPA, AGPS, a 3 megapixel fixed-focus camera, Bluetooth 2.0 and microSD expansion. It will act as music player, sofware/music can be updated OTA or sideload and it will paly video. The display is a 2.8inches and 240 x320 pixels.
AT&T will have a six month exclusive to sell the HTC Lancaster.
The document talks about the "messaging interface" which was demoed at CTIA, a way of collecting messages from multiple places, easily.. AT&T is expected to start selling HTC Lancaster on August 3.
The interface will most likely be enhanced for AT&T.
HTC has previously hinted that they are working on multiple Android phones.
