Apple iPhone 3.0 Update Released

Apple has released the free software update for iPhone 3.0 with more than 100 new features and
enhancements. Apple iPod Touch users are required to pay $10.00 to get the update.

The 230-260 megabyte update can be found in the iTunes store, you must be using iTunes 8.2 to get it.

The update lets you run the next generation of iPhone apps, like peer-to-peer games and more such as:

  • Cut copy and paste.
  • Landscape keyboard.
  • MMS - not yet for AT&T.
  • Spotlight search - searches all of your contacts, email, calendars, notes, etc.
  • Voice memos.
  • Ability to buy movies and TV shows.
  • Stereo Bluetooh.
  • Auto Wi-Fi Login.
  • MobileMe Find My iPhone - with remote wipe.
  1. To get the update make sure you are connected to your computer with iTune 8.
  2. When iTunes opens, select your iPhone under Devices in the Source List on the left.
  3. In the iPhone Summary pane, click Check for Update.
  4. Click Download and Install. Do not disconnect your iPhone until the update has finished.
