There's always something new to learn about the Palm Pre, the SDK has been leaked, a full blown huge cast commercial is airing and Sprint claims Palm Pre, users save money over the iPhone.
There have been several reports that an early access developer has leaked the Mojo Software Development Kit onto to the web. It appears someone who had early access to the Palm Pre
developer program leaked the file.
It may facilitate more apps in your Palm Pre
future because the official open release to all is not due out until the end of the summer.
The SDK is 168 megabytes and contains the information needed for software developers to create software for the Palm Pre. It also requires Sun VirtualBox version 2.2.4, Java SE and
Safari 4.0.
There are rumors that if you don't download it soon it may be pulled. It was leaked on Friday and we were able to download it this morning via a link from PreInsiders. Because it is the weekend Palm is probably not aware what happened. Generally, in these type of leaks, the company may contact webhosts and file sharing sites to have the files removed.
Sprint is trying to take a bite out of Apple's market share, they have a new ad running that shows the Palm Pre
saves $1200 over the iPhone in two years.
The television commercial is now airing nationally. Online bits are showing .Hulu, DailyCandy and YouTube. The Palm Pre commercial involves a thousand students performing Kung Fu on one of the
largest green screens in the world. You may recognize the same group
from the Beijing Olympics. The main character of the commercial is put her into an "amazing
landscape" via blue screen. The ad on YouTube says, "Isn't it beautiful when life simple flows together." Shouldn't that contain a question mark?
