Sprint Sales. J.P. Morgan estimated that over 50,000 phones were sold during the weekend while the Wall Street Journal culled numbers from analysts that estimated between 50,000 and 100,000 Palm Pre smartphones were sold.

RBC Capital, analyst, Mike Abramsky estimate it looked like there would be  470,000 Palm Pre units in the first
three months of sale and 2.6 million in the first year.

"We experienced our best one day of sales and single weekend sales for
any phone we've launched in our history,"said Tim Donahue, vice president of business marketing for Sprint, "We sold out of the
device over the weekend in most of our store locations. And it happened
at a much faster rate than we had planned on. "

Customers who want a Palm Pre should get on a waiting list, then Sprint will know where to send units in the future, however a shortage may persist, noted Donahue in a interview with CNET. You can check on the Sprint website for store locations.

The new glitch in the iPhone vs. Palm Pre battle is that AT&T will offering the iPhone 3G for $99 undercutting the Pre price of $199 after a rebate, but then again monthly service will be more expensive. Also Palm Pre has cloud sync included while cloud sync is $99 a year for the iPhone with MobileMe service. The Palm Pre  has a removable battery the iPhone does not. Some reviewers are saying the comparison is neck and neck.

In the rumor department a store rep told a customer that Palm would be adding full Yahoo synchronization to Synergy int Palm Pre within the
next few weeks.

There was a sneak peak earlier this year of a giant Facebook set for the Palm Pre. The commercial has surfaced and it has giant Facebook set and it is sells the Palm Pre for Spritn and has the same announcer as the "Sprint Now" commercials. The YourTube video appears further down.
