Nokia has officially denied that they are working on an Android phone any time soon.
There is "no truth" to the rumor propounded by the Guardian that Nokia would be making Android touchscreen phones to better compete with the iPhone and other smartphones.
"There is no truth to this story whatsoever," Nokia said in a statement.
"Everyone knows that Symbian is our preferred
platform for advanced mobile devices," a Nokia spokesman told the
Reuters.
Nokia recently bought Symbian which is an open source operating system. Handset makers that are currently working on Android phones include Samsung, LG, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and HTC.
Nokia is the world's leading
