Clearwire will officially launch its WiMAX high-speed wireless broadband service in Las Vegas on July 21.
They claim CLEAR brings to the Las Vegas
region the first super fast mobile Internet service that works as fast
on the go as it does at home.
Their news release does not state if what is Wi-MAXed in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
Las Vegas is the fourth Clearwire market to launch after Baltimore, Atlanta, and Portland.
Customers interested in experiencing CLEAR
today can sign-up now via clear.com. It will be available via other retail channels in the future. Their website notes, you can usese it with your existing PC or
any WiMAX-ready mobile device, pay by the day or month and get service
at home, on the go or both.
The company plans to bring CLEAR to 80 markets
and up to 120 million people by the end of 2010. Some of the additional
markets planned to launch in 2009 include Chicago, Charlotte,
Dallas/Ft. Worth, Honolulu, Philadelphia, and Seattle. Some of the
additional markets planned to launch in 2010 include New York, Boston,
Washington, D.C., Houston and the San Francisco Bay Area.
