Michael Jackson Memorial Boosted Mobile and Facebook Traffic

Between 10am and noon PDT, Verizon Wireless voice calls in the vicinity of the Staples
Center in Los Angeles, the location of the Michael Jackson memorial, were up 10
percent greater than the same time on Monday. Text message and mobile web rates
were increased 86 percent.

Facebook reported  733,000 status updates. Michael Jackson's fan page on Facebook grew to 7,658,434 fans after his death, beating President Barack Obama by over one million.
