The T-Mobile
myTouch 3G is a nice looking touchscreen smartphone that comes in a zippered travel case with a micro fiber pouch. It has an acclerometer that automatically adjusts the screen to landscape or portrait mode. Because the Android operating system is backed by Google, where this phone excels is with Google search, Google maps, and Gmail functions. It will not sync with Outlook contacts or calendar.
Reviewers liked the sleek compact design and the stylish zippered case it comes packaged in. The display is beautiful. The onscreen keyboard takes time to get used to using. Although web access is very fast, not all the reviewers liked the web browser. Every reviewer hated the fact the the T-Mobile

So who should buy the myTouch 3G? The myTouch 3G is not a super-geeky smartphone and lacks some high end compatibility. If you don't like the web browser, Opera Mini offers a faster alternative. If you are a big email sender, a keyboarded smartphone may be a better choice. However, if you are fashionista, the myTouch 3G comes in three colors and you can get a discount from skin-it to make a design that matches your purse, or BMW.

Kent German at CNET Rated the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G 4 out 5 (Excellent) for its design, gorgeous display, tactle controls, UI, email syncing, and call and data performance. He didn't like that it lacked a standar 3.5 mm headset jack, file manager, Outlook syncing and abscene of camera edtiing. Video quality was uneven. He found the HTML browsing and keyboard flawed. The T-Mobile myTouch 3G felt sturdy. The 480 x 320 display is beautiful. The integrated Google search doesn't work in landscape mode. There's a trackball, and keys for home, menu, call, back, zoom and hang-up. The accelerometer for portait to landscape auto-rotate worked well. The addition of Microsoft Exchange Service support is welcome. App downloads are limited to storage on te interanl memory only. Call quality was good but volume could be louder.
Sacha Segan at PCMag rated the T-Mobile myTuuch 3G with Google 3.5 out of 5. He notes that it sell well because it looks like the iPhone and is fashionable. The on-screen keyboard is good but in landscape mode, you can't see the context you are typing. Internet access was fast and can't be used as a tethered modem. It works well as phone. Voice commands worked but didn't work with Bluetooh. The lack of a standard jack and music doesn't sync with iTunes. The camera isn't great but it's not bad. GPS is excellent and works with Google maps or you can buy TeleNav for spoken directions. He suggested that if you plan on dealing with a lot of text the T-Mobile BlackBerry 8900 is a better choice.
LaptopMag also rated The T-Mobile myTouch 3G 3.5 out of 5 because it has a good browser and plenty of apps.The keyboard takes getting used to. Voice search worked well. If you are planning to use email on the myTouch it is suggested to sign up for Gmail where this Google centric phone shines. The web browser worked well. It supports microSD cards up to 16 GB and the batter doesn't have to be removed to do it. The camera was good but lacked a dedicated camera button. Call qaulity wasn't the best. Battery life was good.
