On Friday, we reported that BlackBerry Tour update OS 4.7.1.53 was released by RIM and users could get it from BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Today, it appears there have been problems reported downloading the 4.7.1.53 update
from the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. We made a call out to Verizon from late Friday and hope to hear back from them on Monday. We suggest you wait a few days until all the glitches for the glitch-fix, get fixed. These kind of things always happen on a weekend Before you attempt any kind of update be sure to back-up your data per our original instructions. Sometimes, Verizon takes a really long time releasing updates because it puts the updates through a lot of testing. For instance there was a BlackBerry Storm update that took months to get out, but when it came out it was fantastic.
This OS 4.7.153 update looks good and fixes the glitches related to the trackball, sluggishness, MMS notifications, geo-tagging, video playing, DRM music skips, Bluetooth, headset removal and contact manager. We'll keep you posted when we see more details.
