AT&T's spokesblogger, "Seth the Blogger Guy" has been given the job of calming annoyed iPhone owners and smartphone owners who aren't happy with their service.
He explains in YouTube video that AT&T has seen a dramatic increase in smartphone use, which has created an astounding amount of data demand which puts more pressure on the network and the airwaves are a limited highway. The delay for MMS for iPhones which will start on Septmeber 25 was to ensure that the network would be working well.
AT&T invested 38 Billion to expand networks and they are added the 850 megahertz spectrum creating more ways to connect and travel through the network.
“The bottom line is—We have heard you. We are on it. We will use this hard-won experience to lead the industry into the future.”
The commenters on YouTube, weren’t all buying Seth’s brutal honesty apology:
“Translation: “We’ve oversold our network capacity, but were more than happy to take your money. Yes, we have pocketed all that cash and are reinvesting only a fraction of these revenues into? expanding our network. Where the hell you think the money for our bonuses comes from?”“
Another liked it:
“Good for AT&T. They needed to? talk about this! I have not had much problems with their network (traveling between Boston and Seattle lots).”
