Droid momentum is growing and news story abound. Sales appear to
brisk, tethering is coming as well as an increase in the Early Termination Fee
from Verizon.
Droid is still getting good
reviews and is packed with
features.
In Droid news, although the first day didn't see very long lines, several
reports confirm that in Saturday Verizon outlets were downright crowded.
In Palo Alto, customers had to wait in line to touch demo units. In Chicago, late
at night people were waiting for their Droids. Let's think about it, only
iPhone-aholics who get a hit offer the sleeping in line experience are crazy
enough to sleep in the cold outside a store while Verizon customers, realized
that they could order online, or they may have been working on Friday and went
to the store on their day off, Saturday.
It has been confirmed that a "use your
Droid as tethered modem" plan will be available from
Verizon for an additonal $30 a month.with a 5 gigabyte a month cap.
If you are thinking bout buying a smartphone from Verizon and think you may have
doubts about the the process and opt out with a Early Termination Fee, Verizon
will raise the fee to $350 starting November 15. Apparently their
Buy One Get One Free BlackBerry Deal deal allowed some pirates to sell the "free"
additional BlackBerry for a profit after buying out their contracts with a $175
ETF. As far as we can tell, you can still get out your contract if you decide
not to keep a phone from Verizon in fewer than 30 days.
Bloggers are saying that a top reasons for buying the
Droid is the GPS navigation, hi-res screen, keyboard, hi-speed
processor, Google integration, tethering, and Verizon coverage. If you have Mac
computer then iPhone is better choice. We named the top ten
features, earlier this week. Another problem with the Droid appears to be a short battery life. Our demo unit has had to be charged after a few hours of use especially while web browsing.
