Layar is a free app add information and images for photos your mobile phone.
On top of the camera image (displaying reality) Layar adds content
layers. Layers are the equivalent of webpages in normal browsers.

An illustration of 3.0, if you are on Abbey Road, you can see the Beatles! Now it is possible to see Ringo, Paul, John and George back on Abbey Road,  by pointing your phone at the zebra crossing in the road. After having taken some screenshots with your friend standing next to
the Beatles in 3D, you can proceed to the next location on the Beatles
discovery tour, which covers 42 locations.

Another app within the Layar app Tweeps around 3D, that shows Tweets around you in 3D, It has been updated with login, geo-location and send
direct tweets within the layer.

We found the find flu hots feature useful. You can see Recovery fund from the US in use, restaurant menus, In n' Out locations, apartments for rent, golfing greens, find hospitals,

Space Invaders shows shows UFO's above different company headquarters and famous hotspots globally

In development now are Layars of ancient 3D settings. Their blog suggests "Imagine you can experience the Colosseum back in its original state,
see the audience sitting on the benches and hear the lions roar - as if
you were teleported to a scene 1000 years ago."

This app is a little confusing to use at first because its a totally new concept. Layar, however, could be godsend when you need an burger, flu shot or hospital.

Layar Android 1.5 and 1.6 devices. Version 2.0 for Droid is coming soon , they have almost finished testing for
