Google Nexus One Announcement Live Notes: Voice to Text Fields

The Nexus One is the new category of "super phone."  Nexus means point of convergence, it's where "web meets phones."

It has 3.7 inch OLED display 480 x 800 WVGA, 1Ghz processor snap dragon processor and sleek form factor.

  • Multicolor LED trackball - changes colors for notifications.
  • Compass.
  • GPS.
  • Accelorometer.
  • Light and proximity sensor for power saving.
  • No thicker than a number two pencil.
  • 5 megapixel camera with LED flash with one-click upload to YouTube.
  • Stereo Bluetooth.
  • 3.5 ml with contact points for microphone
  • Active noise cancellation.
  • 2 microphones.
  • Metal bezel, leaves space for personalization.  Can be engraved for personal touch such as "Happy Birthday!."

SOFTWARE Information:

  • Android 2.1
  • Google Maps Navigation
  • Facebook integration.
  • More homescreen panels for widgets and shortcuts.
  • Weather widget with updates in a "Googley" way.
  • Customization one step further, live wallpaper.  For example moving leaves over water. If you tap on the water it will ripple.

The Nexus One will be available from Verizon this spring.

  1. T-Mobile version ships today.
  2. Unlocked ships today, use GSM SIM from any provider.  Different 3G frequencies in US. Phone will run on EDGE on AT&T.
  3. The message isn't to iPhone, the message is to consumers. 
  4. Purchase the phone directly from Google, working with HTC, won't comment on supply change.
  5. Android Market marketing will be online.
