At Paul Otellini's Intel CES
keynote at CES, Otellini showed off the LG GW990, what some are calling a super phone, because it has the power of a PC and the same number of pixels in the display. The LG GW990 won the be best smarphone at CES from laptopmag.com
The LG GW990 is based on the Intel Moorestown platform and could be called a super phone. The Linux-based
Moblin 2.1 operating system ispaired with the Moorestown platform.
LG's GW990 is has pc-like internet capabilities. The 4.8-inch full touchscreen display has a
2.13:1 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1024 x 480 pixels. It plays 720 p videos and can multi-task.
Although the LG GW990 was in the demo was based on HSPA, LG said that the GW990 is will support Long Term Evolution
(LTE) in
the future.
Ottelini said the Moorestown platform "It's smaller, faster and better than anything we've done before."
