Last week, Verizon announced that it will be selling both the Palm Pre and Palm Pixi with added features with a plus added to the names. Sources have leaked some details about the Verizon's Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus. Verizon sales people are being trained on the devices. The Palm Pre Classic received good reviews and was named on the Top Ten List of Popular Mechanics.
The Palm Pre Plus will have double the storage and memory of the Palm Pre. The Palm Pre Plus will have16 Gigbytes of storage and 512 megabytes of megabytes of RAM. It will be released with webOS version 1.3.5.1, that will is scheduled to be updated to 1.4 in February.
The Palm Pixi Plus will have Wi-Fi. They will be be able to be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to 5 devices. Then coming in future updates the ability to capture, edit, and share video.
This functionality will be available via a free over-the-air software
update.
Verizon forum members who work with Verizon have reported that pricing will be similar to Sprint's Palm Pre pricing with the Palm Pre Plus costing $199 and the Palm Pixi Plus around $100. Verizon likes to discount its smartphones and it may or may not offer a buy one get one free deal. Verizon has heavily promoted their buy a Droid, or Droid Eris and get a free Droid Eris deal in Verizon's Current Promotions.
Verizon also changed their Buy One Get One Black Berry deal Currently, to a Buy One BlackBerry Get Any Free BlackBerry or Device deal. If you buy one BlackBerry Storm2, you can get another BlackBerry or mobile broadband device for FREE.
