iPhone Best Over Nexus One and Samsung Wave for World Smartphone Sales

Irish bookmaker Paddy Power analysis of the Samsung Wave suggests that the iPhone will best the Nexus One and Samsung Wave.

Paddy Power gives odds of 4/1 that Samsung's new touchscreen smartphone will outsell both the Google Nexus One and Apple iPhone globally this year.

The iPhone however remains the bookie's odds-on 4/6 favorite to wave goodbye to the competition and easily become the best selling mobile device in the world this year.

Paddy Power said "From what I've seen the Samsung Wave looks like a very sexy device and I'd give it a sporting chance of outselling the Nexus One but my money is on the iPhone to easily outsell both devices this year

Paddy Power are also taking bets on who will have the greatest share of the global mobile phone device market (without Nokia) on the first of January next year. Sony-Ericsson have emerged as the bookies strong 2/5 favorite with Samsung available at odds of 7/4.

Editors Note: We do note sanction betting. It's interesting for the mobile business to see how the rest of the world including bookies see the wireless business. We also find it interesting that RIM and BlackBerry were not mentioned at all.  BlackBerry leads the smartphone market in the United States.
