Nexus One Android Updates 2Day: Fixes Glitches, Adds Multi-Touch

NexusOne.jpgGoogle Nexus One owners will be getting an Over-The-Air (OTA) update today.  Most importantly, the updates fixes the “issues” with T-Mobile 3G drop-outs. It has some great enhancements including:

  • Pinch-to-Zoom- gives users zooming via pinch in the browser, maps and photos. Opening the pinch zooms out, closing the pinch zooms in. This is a great multi-touch addition.
  • Google Maps V.3.4- that syncs map preferences between your computer and Nexus One when told to.
  • Google Googgles Pre-Loaded- Google Goggles is now pre-load and available from the menu.

The OTA update may take as long as week to get to your Nexus One.  You will receive a message on your phone’s
notification bar. Tap on the update wait for it to install, the Nexus One may then reboot.

Last Friday, Nexus One owners on T-Mobile reported outages.  The Google Nexus One had received fab first looks,
and then well “issues” appeared with long waits for email support and
touchiness with the touchscreen. However HTC does offer  live-US-staffed 888 number tech support. It was recently reported that voice transcriptions on the the Nexus One removes swear words. Web banner ads contend that the Nexus One wallpaper has sentience.
