Windows Mobile Phone Updates 2Day: Windows Phone 7 Details

mobilefeel.jpgMicrosoft will be making an announcement at Mobile World Congress on February 15 to reveal Windows Phone 7. The web is abuzz with what Windows Phone 7 will feature. The main theme is that Windows Phone will be more like the Zune and integrate Xbox compatibility. Super geeks are disxapointed that it lack flash support, multi-tasking and backward compatibility.

The latest leaks from PPC Geeks suggest these details:

  • UI-The user interface, called "Metro" will look the OS on the Zune and have full Zune integration with Zune-style syncing.
  • Full Xbox integration.
  • Social Networking support.
  • No flash support yet.
  • App installation is from the Marketplace only, not from SD storage card.
  • No multi-tasking of apps, apps will pause when another is launched.
  • Marketplace support for "try" before you buy and API.
  • No backward compatibility for apps, developers will have to develop for the OS.
  • No added interfaces on top such as TouchSense.

These details come from an unnamed source but do make sense and follow trends of other smartphone operating systems.  We know for sure on February 15.
