There was a data outage for Verizon Wireless customers earlier today, on the U.S. East Coast.
Some smartphone users were not able to access all data services entirely while others were degraded from Verizon's 3G EV-DO network to its 1X data network.
Verizon traced the problem to a software glitch which was repaired by 8:00 am EST this morning.
Verizon'sTwitter announcement of the fix was, "VZW
resolves early AM data issue that involved parts, not all, of eastern
US: mix of some out, slower service, many unaffected from 4-8 AM.""PS - Voice service unaffected."
