Google Place Pages, filled with information about places on Google Maps is now optimized for Android smartphones and iPhone/iPod.
For example, for a restaurant it shows location information, customer ratings, opening hours and what people are saying about the restaurant in summary format.
To get more details on opening hours or on customer specific comments related to the food, service or ambiance, click on those respective sections to show more information instantly. The Place Page also provides links to useful websites where the user can read full reviews about the place. Clicking on the the map button will launch a full screen dynamic map which is pannable and zoomable, to see restaurant's location in the context of the entire neighborhood.
Using m.google.com on your phone's search. On the search results page, clicking on the listing takes you to the Place Page. This mobile optimized Place Page is currently supported on Android-powered devices and iPhones/iPod touches in the US.
It is so great to have easy access to relevant information via mobile phones!
You might also want to check out http://www.lookthatup.com -an iPhone app powered by image recognition technology from LTU Technologies. LTU recently opened up their API to developers so they can develop their own google goggles-like application.
I just recently got an account with them and it seems really easy to integrate.
