The new WebKit browser will be part of BlackBerry OS 6.0 and won't be installable to OS 5.0. The WebKit browser is not exacly a WebKit browser but a WebKit rendering engine that can also be used in apps.
BlackBerry OS 6.0 will have an enhanced media player and a more intuitive UI, "We're trying to update the UI and fix the stuff that people wanted us to fix,"Lazaridis said.
A promotional video calls BlackBerry OS 6.0 "The All New User Experience" The experience features social feeds, a fuller media experience and a calendar/contact/voicemail widget/page.
According to the sneak peak video, you can dance and touch the screen to launch all kinds of musical experiences. From music playing, you can view related YouTube videos. The is a new photo gallery like the Android Gallery. There's a shot of integrated messaging for the executive. He uses the onscreen keyboard in a SWYPE style of keyboarding. The BlackBerry will call a contact directly form a message. It looks like messages can directly open up webpages such as the New York TImes. It shows Twitter and Facebook integration.
Lazardis also RIM will continue to support for older devices as it makes sense (within memory limitations). Therefore, BlackBerry OS 6.0 will probably be limited to new BlackBerry smartphones.
