The BlackBerry spies have been out with their video camera, boldly looking for unreleased Bold BlackBerry smartphones.
The BlackBerry Bold 9800 has touchscreen display with a BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard that slides out. It looks like a cross between a BlackBerry Storm and BlackBerry Curve on the bottom or a wide flat Palm Pre or Palm Pre Plus. Some call the BlackBerry Bold 9800 the BlackBerry Oasis. Suspected features include Wi-Fi, camera, Bluetooth, faster processor, and more memory.
The touchscreen is believed to be sure press. The BlackBerry Bold 9800 runs BlackBerry OS 6.0 which will have that super webKit-ish browser and social-networking features.
Don't confuse the BlackBerry Bold 9800 with the BlackBerry Bold 9650 formerly the BlackBerry Tour 2, due out from Sprint May 23 and some time in May at Verizon which is more of a traditional style BlackBerry smartphone.
BlackBerry OS 6.0 will have an enhanced media player and a
more intuitive UI, "We're trying to update the UI and fix the stuff that
people wanted us to fix," RIM's CEO Lazaridis said.
A promotional video
calls BlackBerry OS 6.0 "The All New User Experience" The
experience features social feeds, a fuller media experience and a
calendar/contact/voicemail widget/page.
touch the screen to launch all kinds of musical experiences. From
music playing, you can view related YouTube videos.
There is a new photo
gallery like the Android Gallery. There's a shot of integrated messaging
for the executive. Email is unified with contacts and calendar. He
uses the onscreen keyboard in a SWYPE style of
keyboarding. The BlackBerry will call a contact directly form a message.
It looks like messages can directly open up webpages such as the New
York Times. It shows Twitter and Facebook integration.
