A leaked screen shot showed May 16th as the launch date for the Palm Pre at AT&T, with a nationwide roll out following the date. HP recently bought Palm which was considered a good deal by analysts because of the social-network-merging webOS operating system.
The Palm Pre Plus from AT&T will cost $149.99( according to their Facebook page which confirmed the launch date) on contract after rebate the same price Sprint is
charging for the Pre, however a touchstone charger will be included. Data plans will be $30 a month.
Plans will include free access to AT&T's Wi-Fi hotspots at landed locations but it is not known yet if free hotspots from the Plam Pre Plus will be included in AT&T Palm Pre Plus plans.
Verizon
recently reduced the price of their Palm Pre Plus to $29.99 whichs a
major price break on a very powerful smartphone that will make
up to 5 Wi-Fi hotspot connections for friends and families (for FREE).
When the Palm Pre was launched last year with a great fanfare
and spectacular commercials, its almost physic-like collection of
contacts, social-networking and calendaring was praised and cost $150.
