The next Droids do do new features according to leaked sources and video. The Droid 2 will probably be officially announced by Verizon Wireless later this summer, in the meantime, the Android spies are out and about, handling pirated Droid 2s.
The Droid 2 features spied include a wider keyboard with directional keys removed and a 1 GHz TI OMAP3630 processor. The latest Droid 2 comes in dark blue. Droid 2 has twice the memory of the Droid (512 MB vs 256 MB) doubling the frames per second in benchmark tests.
JPL intern, Zack had some hands-on time with a Droid 2 , too, he noticed that the camera on the back was a 5.0 megapixel. His Droid 2 was was a dark chrome-like color. Tthe
keyboard is wide and the directional pad was changed so that you have
the four arrows and easier to type on than the original Droid. The JPL-viewed Droid 2 had 8GB of internal memory as well as an 8GB
microSD card.
Verizon will officially announce the Droid
X on June 23. They have teased it's features on the Droid
website showing the Droid X with
a large 4.3-inch screen, 720p high
definition video capture and HDMI output.

Wireless has had considerable success with the Droid line
ofsmartphones the well-reviewed
HTC Droid Incredible continually sells out and does not ship for
a few weeks.
The original Droid

out- sold the iPhone 1G over the first 74 days, coming in at just
over
one million sold.
On the Droid X front, Verizon has released a commercial for Droid X and you get to see the Drolid X through the eyes of an eyeball reflection. Specs reflected include HDMI output, 8 megapixel camera, and a 4.3-inch WVGA display and a reference to DROIDLanding, a Twitter account.
Droid fanatics are making all kinds of conjectures from the video below including speculating that the Droid X will have biometric iris recognition. Mirror, mirror on the the eyeball who is the fairest Droid in the World?
