The Motorola i1 is the first walkie-talkie enabled
touchscreen Android smartphone that will launch on June 20 on Boost Mobile. It was announced only one day after AT&T limited it's data plans. Added Android features include Wi-Fi and a SWYPE touchscreen keyboard.
The Motorola i1 has a 5MP camera(with flash), 3.1-inch HVGA
display, and comes with the Opera Mini 5 Browser. Other features include GPS, Email Exchange, GPS, Stereo Bluetooth, 2GB microSD card (can go up to 32 GB.) The Motorola i1 runs a 600MHz Freescale process. It sells for $349.
It's one tough phone, Motorola i1 meets Military Specifications
810,
withstanding dust, shock, vibration, rain, humidity, fog, and more.
Unfortunately
it looks like the Motorola i1 will be launched with Android 1.5
or 1.6, limiting its capabilities, but didn't Motorola's Sanjay Jah that
Moto is committed to updating their Android phones to 2.1?
The
Moto i1 is also rumored to come to Sprint on June 20 with a lowered
subsidized price tag.
