Sprint has changed the estimated number of HTC EVO 4G smartphones sold on the first day of sales.

Sprint said in a statement. “We inadvertently erred in the comparison. The total number of HTC Evo 4G devices sold on launch day was in line with the number of Samsung Instinct and Palm Pre devices sold over their first three days on the market combined. “

Then Sprint, expounded upon the statement they sent us yesterday, regarding HTC EVO 4G being sold-out.

“HTC EVO 4G has more than lived up to our expectations that it would be one of the most anticipated technology products of the year,” said Kevin Packingham, senior vice president - Product Development for Sprint. “We are working closely with our partners at HTC to increase the supply and get EVO 4G into the hands of everyone who wants one as quickly as possible.”

The well-reviewed HTC EVO 4G has a huge 4.3" display, 4G (WiMAX faster data
access), data and voice at the same time at 4G, and ability to work as a
Wi-Fi hotspot. Other features include Android 2.1 with HTC Sense, HD
video, full HTML browser with Flash support, and 1 GHz processor. The EVO 4G has a handy kick stand for video viewing.
