Wireless seems to have an affinity for hot dogs. Some Droid X midnight openings are serving hot dogs  and a hidden Droid X was found at Pinks Hot Dogs in Hollywood, on La Brea.

Find the DROID X and it’s yours. That’s just what Todd Leykamp of North
Hollywood
did this Monday. Leykamp participated in Verizon
Wireless’ nationwide scavenger hunt to earn bragging rights as he got
his hands on the company’s latest Android phone, the DROID X by
Motorola, which is not available for purchase until tomorrow.

The hunt was announced
and executed on the company’s Twitter feed ,  GPS coordinates were
provided at 1:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon
and participants inserted these coordinates into Google Maps to lead
them to the DROID X’s destination the famous Pink’s Hot Dogs.

Los
Angeles
winner Todd Leykamp found
the DROID X in 56 minutes.  He followed the scavenger hunt closely via
Twitter in hopes of winning the DROID X in time for his 29th birthday.
Leykamp is excited for the bigger screen, faster processor, and
increased memory for applications on the DROID X.  We don’t know if also had a chili dog while he was there.

Although we have been assured that Verizon has plenty of the Droid
X
in stock, we suggest you read our suggestions for getting and finding

a Droid X , Verizon and other

online retailers are expected to start selling the Droid X
online in the early hours of the morning.
