PC Mag Test Refutes Apple's Droid X Death Grip Attenuation Test

Deathgripjellydonut.JPGPC Magazine tested several smartphones for death grip signal loss and other than the iPhones. Their tests revealed a little attenuation on the Droid Incredible and Droid X. The Droid X required a super two-handed death grip.

Sascha Segan noted "... we also just couldn't get the Droid X's signal to drop using one hand. As you can see in our video, we had to completely cover the body of the Droid X in an awkward, two-handed grip to get the phone's signal to drop. That's very different from the one-handed grip we found on the iPhone 4."

The following video shows vey ittle signal drop with the Droid
Incredible and Droid Incredible. The worst death grip however was on the
jelly donut and the banana. The land line handset showed not
attentuation at all.

The latest ad for the Droid X
claims that because it has two antenna, it does not need a a
jacket/case. The myTouch 3G Slide showed the greatest signal change.
Apple posted on its website a video showing attenuation on the Droid X from gripping the phone

The well-reviewed Droid X backed by the Verizon Wireless network is considered to be one the best competitors of the iPhone 4. Droid X owners use five times more data than other Verizon customers.

  1. I think this issue should be dropped now - it's getting exceedingly boring! ;-p
