Android an'Droid Updates: PayPal Taps / Bumps Money from Android Phone to Phone

PayPal Android.JPGPaypal has updated their Android app feature with bump technology -  allowing users to tap two phones together to send money.

Currently, you can only to the bump with another Android or Droid phone,
you can bump around with iPhones or BlackBery smartphones.  There is no
cross-platform bumping.

Now while dinning out you can split the check via PayPal. The split the check feature, lets users automatically calculate the total cost of
a bill and then collect money directly from friends when out to dinner.  This feature could save or cause arguments, we've see people argue over who had what drink with the meal.
PayPal for Android lets you:

  • Send money to friends and family.
  • Bump Androids to exchange contact info.
  • Withdraw funds, split the check, and more.

PayPal mobile applications started  2005, in the last few years
usage soared. Over the last six months alone, PayPal generated nearly
twice the mobile payment volume it did in all of 2009, and they expect
to
close out the year with over a half a billion dollars of mobile payment
volume.

The PayPal Mobile for Android application is free, and available now in the Android Market
