Cheap Android fans can rejoice. Finally for those who have been waiting for low-cost all you can get prepaid carrier to offer Android smartphone. The Kyocera (now Sanyo) Zio M6000 was revealed at CTIA earlier this year. Cricket is now showing the price of the Zio that will ship tomorrow, $229, if you preorder online or $249 if you don't order online.
The Sanyo Zio may be the first Android phone to come to a prepaid low-cost carrier,
Cricket. The tri-band Sanyo Zio has Wi-Fi, Stereo Bluetooth
and GPS, 3.5-inch screen and 3.2 megapixel camera with video
capture at 30 frames per second. It comes with old-fashioned Android 1.6.and supports the Cricket 3G EV-DO network.
Other features include a digital
compass, accelerometer, and support for microSD cards. It looks like Android is going to be next texting/web mobile OS for the masses. We saw this phone and CTIA and although it's smaller than the present Android powerhouse such as the 4.3 inch-screened Droid X and the 3.7 incher Droid Incredible it's a whole lot of phone for a much lower price.
