Cricket will launch their own brand of music service, dubbed MusiK. Their service focuses on the music needs of younger, ethnically diverse customers who love music, but do not buy online.
MusiK is ased on proprietary IP, the first purpose-built music system designed specifically for mobile devices. They are collaborating with the music industry, handset suppliers and network - for their prepaid customers.
So far, agreements have been completed with most of the major music
labels and many major publishers, expect additional agreements to follow
The MusiK service will be unveiled in October, available in early 2011 and my go national later in year
They expect the service will attract more customers, higher revenues and better returns
The
report doesn't now show what kinds of phones the service will serve, if
it can work on low-end handsets, that will be a big bonus. Cricket also launched new mobile broadband products.
