Verizon customers whose contracts end before 12/31 appear to qualify for "an upgrade to
any smartphone, including DROID 2, without penalty."

The Droid 2 is the first Verizon Droid smarpthone  toship with the super fast feature-packed Android 2.2.  The Droid 2 features an improved QWERTY keyboard,1 GHz processor, 3G

For the Droid X the Verizon website was not maxed out until later in the day, which why we suggest that if you are going to buy a Droid 2, to do it in the wee hours in the morning.  We've got a call out to Verizon to find out if any stores are opening early on Thursday.

Along
with free shipping an added bonus for ordering online from Verizon when
using the Wireless and Mobile News coupon-link you get Instant Phone Rebate Only Available with Online Purchases.

When we called major Verizon stores for the Droid X we were advised to buy our next Droid online.  Let us know if works for you.
