Google launched the new Android app and iPhone optimized edition of Google Finance for mobile.
The new design gives users a unified experience across computer desktop and Android or iPhone phones, offering nearly all the same features and functionality on both. There is a mobile website as well as an Android app.
Users access the new site via a Google search for stock tickers or company names on your mobile device, or by tapping the "Finance" tab on the Google mobile homepage.
The Google mobile blog claims "Now no matter where you are, you can
keep up with your portfolio, the latest market news, and the sectors you
care about, with real time quotes and data -- all at a glance."
Google Finance started in March 2006, offering business headlines
and Flash-based stock price charts. In June 2008, Google partnered with
NASDAQ and the New York Stock Exchange,for real-time ticker updates.
Yesterday, Google bean offering Gmail access to Google Voice for calls from/to computers. Google ontinually updates mobile services and apps.
Google launched the Chrome to Phone Extension for Chrome that lets
users send links and other information from Chrome to their Android
devices. Google also has added more voice to text and voice command features to Android 2.2 called Voice Actions that work with Google Maps.
